## Tutor in a Book's Geometry

Need help with Geometry? Designed to replicate the services of a skilled private tutor, the new and improved Tutor in a Book's Geometry is at your service TIB's Geometry is an extremely thorough, teen tested and effective geometry tutorial. TIB's Geometry includes more than 500 of the right, well-illustrated, carefully worked out and explained proofs and problems. Throughout TIB's Geometry, there is ongoing, specific guidance as to the most effective solution and test taking strategies. Recurring patterns, which provide solutions to proofs, are pointed out, explained and illustrated using the visual aids that students find so helpful. Also included are dozens of graphic organizers, which help students understand, remember and recognize the connections between concepts. TIB's author Jo Greig intended this book to " level the playing field between the students who have tutors and those that don't." As a long time, very successful private mathematics tutor and teacher, Jo Greig knew exactly how best to accomplish this TIB's Geometry 294 pages are packed with every explanation, drawing, hint and memory tool possible Not only does it have examples of the right proofs and problems, it also manages to impart every bit of the enthusiasm that great tutors impart to their private tutoring students. Ms. Greig holds a bachelors' degree in mathematics. Dr. J. Shiletto, the book's mathematics editor, holds a Ph.D in mathematics.
## Geometry For Dummies

You know that geometry is a math thing, right? You remember that much from school. You also probably remember that it has something to do with circles, squares, diameters, angles, and all those other terms that floated in (and probably right out of ) your head as you were cramming for all those geometry tests way back when. But your math teacher probably never told you that you'd actually use that stuff in real life – if he had, maybe you would have paid more attention! Well, don't fret. You're in the same boat as almost everyone else. Geometry has about a million (a rough estimate) uses in real life – for example, you may have some home improvement projects you want to tackle; you have to know how to cut the wood at certain angles to make them fit together. ( Bet you didn't realize that carpenters have to be experts at geometry as well!) With a basic knowledge of geometry, building some bookshelves for your kid's room becomes so much easier. Geometry For Dummies can give you that basic understanding of geometry, and you might actually have a little fun along the way. Written in a breezy, easy-to-understand, non-textbook-like style, this book helps you with all your geometrical dilemmas. In Geometry For Dummies, you'll find out about the following topics and more: Understanding lines and angles Working up a geometry proof All those funny shapes: circles, rectangles, triangles, and the ever versatile polygon Having your Pi and eating it, too Taking the next step into trigonometry Doing someone a solid: Exploring prisms, pyramids, cylinders, cones, and spheres Top Ten list of cool careers that use geometry and tips for making geometry easier Appendices with formulas, theorems, and other helpful geometry resources So whatever your reason for wanting to learn geometry – a home improvement project, helping your kid with his or her homework, or just a fascination with funny shapes – Geometry For Dummies is just what you need to recall what you learned in school and put it to good use.
## Geometry Formula Handbook

This handbook was written for high school students, and consists of the most common geometry formulas. The book serves as an extra homework helper; it is also a perfect tool for teachers, and students who are studying for major exams such as the SATs and ACTs. In the book the formulas are listed in chronological order. There are formulas for every scenario, and each formula has an example of a problem and its solution, for easier understanding. This handbook is the only tool you'll need while studying, because it contains everything required to grasp basic testing content in a short amount of time. Anyone who has fundamental knowledge of geometry will benefit from this book. It is the best way to prepare for exams without being overwhelmed with too much information and confused by the language of geometry.

## Notes on Geometry

In recent years, geometry has played a lesser role in undergraduate courses than it has ever done. Nevertheless, it still plays a leading role in mathematics at a higher level. Its central role in the history of mathematics has never been disputed. It is important, therefore, to introduce some geometry into university syllabuses. There are several ways of doing this, it can be incorporated into existing courses that are primarily devoted to other topics, it can be taught at a first year level or it can be taught in higher level courses devoted to differential geometry or to more classical topics. These notes are intended to fill a rather obvious gap in the literature. It treats the classical topics of Euclidean, projective and hyperbolic geometry but uses the material commonly taught to undergraduates: linear algebra, group theory, metric spaces and complex analysis. The notes are based on a course whose aim was two fold, firstly, to introduce the students to some geometry and secondly to deepen their understanding of topics that they have already met. What is required from the earlier material is a familiarity with the main ideas, specific topics that are used are usually redone.
